What is QEC and how can it benefit me?

QEC is a brain-based therapy where you “talk” to the body and tell the body how to operate and behave. It is useful if you have a particular issue you want to resolve or are struggling to get over a situation. QEC removes the emotional charge of a past situation so you’ll still remember what happened, but it just doesn’t affect you anymore. Negative or painful past incidents can leave us with a bad perception of ourselves, maladaptive or bad thoughts and behaviours and physical symptoms that get in the way of us living happily and at peace. QEC can help to rectify these thoughts and behaviours and also help you to see yourself more positively. A great benefit of QEC is that it is immediate, effective and permanent.

Is QEC for me and how does it differ to TRE?

QEC is more talk-based, whereas TRE is more of a “feeling” experience. QEC is great for people who want a particular problem solved, whereas TRE is more about releasing and managing general stress and anxiety. I generally recommend QEC to clients who don’t like feeling their emotions or don’t “have the time to have an emotional breakdown”. I find that QEC is great for people who are on the move and who have a lot of responsibilities.

Some of the things that QEC may help with (but are not limited to):

  • Panic attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Intense, crippling sadness, emptiness or numbness
  • Intense anger or rage outbursts
  • Criticizing or controlling behaviour
  • Struggling to control your emotions
  • Addictions or compulsive behaviours
  • Phobias/Fears like public speaking or meeting new people
  • Struggling to release stress or struggling with burnout
  • Struggling to forgive or let go of someone for what they’ve done to you
  • Chronic inflammatory conditions brought on by psychological causes (fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc.)
  • Abusive or hurtful incidents you can’t seem to get over or that keep replaying in your mind
  • Struggling to gain confidence or low self-esteem
  • Struggling with sticking to realistic goals like losing weight or starting an exercise regime
  • Struggling with overthinking
  • Struggling with self-doubt/self-criticism/self-hatred
  • Prioritizing your needs

How long are sessions and what does it entail?

A QEC session is between 60 and 90 minutes long. For the first 40 minutes, we will discuss and explore the issue at hand. You will then create “statements” (similar to affirmations) to integrate into the subconscious mind. Thereafter, the statements will be rewired into the brain using bodily processes that you are entirely in control of. You will be seated and fully conscious throughout this process.  

How many sessions will I need?

The amount of sessions are dependent on the issue presented. Although QEC works within 1 or 2 sessions, a minimum of 4 sessions are recommended.

Are there any side effects or contra-indications?

QEC is completely safe and has no major side effects. After a “big” session, at most, some clients may feel a little tired. Rest and hydration will help to integrate the changes easier.
